Norwegian continues expansion in Lithuania
Norwegian continues to expand its Lithuanian network, adding direct flights from Palanga to Stockholm, Sweden, Copenhagen, Denmark, and from Kaunas to Oslo, Norway.
Less than two weeks since the first ever take-off on Norwegian’s new route from Palanga to Bergen, Norway, the airline now announces two new non-stop routes between Palanga and Stockholm, Sweden, and Copenhagen, Denmark. The airline will also start a new service between Kaunas and Oslo, Norway.
“We are happy and proud to announce another three direct routes to Scandinavia from Lithuania, offering passengers access to direct and affordable fares to Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our award-winning service, complimentary WiFi and one of the newest, most environmentally friendly fleets in the world,” said Magnus Thome Maursund, SVP commercial Short Haul at Norwegian.
“We see an increasing demand for flights between Scandinavia and Lithuania, not least because it allows our Lithuanian passengers easy access to our global intercontinental network and destinations like Los Angeles, New York and Bangkok. We look forward to welcoming returning and new customers onboard,” said Thome Maursund.
The new routes will also attract more Scandinavian tourists to explore the gorgeous beaches of Palanga and the rich culture and history of Kaunas
“We are more than happy to announce three new routes from Palanga Airport to Stockholm and Copenhagen and from Kaunas to Oslo which will all start in the new summer season next year. We are constantly discussing all the opportunities and current demand with local Lithuanian businesses, associations and other stakeholders who are interested in opening new Scandinavian routes and those discussions which lasted for 3-4 years resulted in new routes with Norwegian Air Shuttle. We believe the three new routes from Palanga and Kaunas will be popular in both groups – business and leisure travellers” said Aurimas Stikliūnas, Head of Aviation Services Division of Lithuanian Airports.
